National Black Health Town Hall Session 3: Capitalizing on Black People's Strengths, Black Health Leaders and Health Professionals to Improve Health Service Delivery
Black Opportunity Fund (BOF), is hosting the third national Black health session aimed at spotlighting the work of Black health professional organizations and leaders, while engaging in critical discussions on leveraging community assets and strengths for improved health outcomes.
Objectives
- To bring to light the current strengths and capacities within the Black community
- To discuss activities and role of Black health leaders and professional organizations and other resources within the Black community
- To discuss how these strengths can be leveraged to better support Black people’s health and issues identified in previous sessions
This two-hour session will include a panel presentation moderated by Dr. Onye Nnorom (Dalla Lana School of Public Health) with speakers Dr. Nicolas Cadet (CIUSSS du Centre), Dr. Everton Gooden (North York General Hospital / University of Toronto), Dr. Delores Mullings (Memorial University of Newfoundland) , Dr. Mojola Omole (Black Physicians of Ontario), Noreen Sibanda (Alberta Black Therapist Network), Dayirai Kapfunde (Alberta Black Therapist Network ) and Dr. Damilola Iduye (Pan Canadian Nurses of African Descent), followed by a discussion session with the audience.
