Support for Education &Youth Programs
Black Opportunity Fund (BOF) is dedicated to advancing educational equity and opportunity for Black children and youth across Canada. Through partnerships, grants, community engagement and advocacy, BOF works to interrupt the impacts of systemic anti-Black racism while creating pathways for learning, leadership, and long-term success.
In 2024, initiatives such as national youth engagements featuring Greg Fergus connected students with impactful leadership experiences, while partnerships with institutions like Toronto Metropolitan University and others expanded reach and access. At the same time, BOF contributes to national research efforts supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada to improve outcomes for Black youth across education and related systems. Through these efforts, BOF champions education as a foundation for empowerment—equipping Black youth with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to thrive.
