D’Andre Wilson-Ihejirika
Dr. D’Andre Wilson-Ihejirika, PhD, P.Eng, PMP is an engineer, educator, and social innovator whose work sits at the intersection of learning, innovation, and inclusive economic development. Born and raised in The Bahamas, D’Andre migrated to Canada to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering at McGill University, launching a career that bridges technical expertise with systems-level social impact.
She began her professional journey as an engineer and project manager in Canada’s oil and gas sector, where she developed deep experience in complex project delivery, stakeholder management, and organizational change. Motivated by a desire to address structural barriers to opportunity, D’Andre later pivoted into education, workforce development, and nonprofit leadership, fields where she has since become a nationally recognized leader.
Over the past decade, D’Andre has led and advised initiatives with organizations including Calgary Economic Development, the Information and Communications Technology Council of Canada (ICTC), Elevate Toronto, the Canadian Engineering Education Association (CEEA), and multiple post-secondary institutions across Canada. Her work has focused on building pathways to innovation-driven careers, strengthening ecosystem collaboration, and advancing equity-deserving communities within Canada’s economy.
A serial social entrepreneur, D’Andre is the founder of several mission-driven organizations, including BrainSTEM Alliance, Bahamas Engineering Technology Advancement (BETA), and TalentED YYC, each dedicated to expanding access to STEM education, talent development, and economic opportunity for Black and underrepresented communities.
D’Andre holds a Master’s degree from the Centre for Management of Technology and Entrepreneurship and a PhD in Engineering Education from the University of Toronto. She is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) and Project Management Professional (PMP). She currently serves as Chair of the LearningCITY Collective, a nonprofit advancing collaborative solutions in learning and workforce development to build adaptive capacity for inclusive economic growth.
