Black Opportunity Fund (BOF) is recruiting new Board members

We are seeking up to four (4) values-aligned individuals with lived experience, strategic expertise, and community-rooted leadership to help steward BOF’s next chapter.  

 As a national charitable organization dedicated to dismantling systemic barriers and advancing equity for Black communities, BOF’s governance reflects an anti-oppression and intersectional approach. We welcome interest from candidates with expertise in:  

  • Finance & capital strategy  
  • Legal, governance, or government relations  
  • Tech, innovation, or entrepreneurship  
  • Philanthropy & nonprofit leadership  
  • Systems change or organizational growth  

BOF intentionally strives to have a board composition that is representative of  Canada’s diverse Black communities, as well as committed allies. As such, we encourages applications from individuals representing the various intersecting identities related to gender, sexual orientation, ability, religion, ethnicity, age, immigration status, language, and geography. At this time we are especially encouraging applications from individuals who identify as Black, Francophone Caribbean, African Nova Scotian, and/or those from the Prairies, Atlantic Canada, Northern Canada, or Ontario outside the GTA. 2SLGBTQ+, gender-diverse, newcomer, and candidates with disabilities, are also encouraged to apply.
